Great set of results for Fran this week. She is making lots of us happy on here.

Wow. Wasn't expecting such an emphatic win. Well done Fran!

Needs another such performance against Riera

Another straight sets win for Fran, often impressively outmanoeuvring her opponent in long rallies. She was up an early break in both sets, cancelled out. She got decisive breaks at 4-4 in both sets, taking advantage of a weak dropshot by the Argentinian to reach 5-4 in the second

SF: (2) Francesca Jones WR 125 (CH 123 earlier this month) def (3) Julia Riera (ARG) WR 149 (CH=93 in May 2024) 6-4 6-4

Only saw the last 10 minutes but that was decisive, attacking tennis form Fran - really working her points, using all the court, and with so much work on the ball

Great stuff Fran! And keeping the matches relatively short is a big help too!

After beating the third seed Fran takes on the top seed in a 1 v 2 final

F: (2) Francesca Jones WR 125 (CH 123 earlier this month) v (1) Leolia Jeanjean (FRA) WR 123 (CH=102 in Jan 2023)

Would be fascinating to see Fran play Katie or Emma or Sonay on the clay. While Katie and Emma are certainly our best players on the faster surfaces, it would be interesting to see who our best really is on the dirt.

I would have her in the squad, even if she didn't play her motivational skills would get the best out of Emma.

Whilst I was expecting she would reach the final I'm very please she has. A good performance and she's got a good chance to win

Great week.

Different type of player in the final.

Hope she can end the week with the title.

Fran has struggled reading and dealing with the variety in the top seed's game, and her movement hasn't been as good today as yesterday - loses the first set 6-1

Fran read Leolia's game better in an even set 2, but had to face down 2 breakpoints in the 9th game. Doing so gave Fran the impetus to break next game and claim the second set 6-4
