Week 15 - ATP Masters 1000 - Monte-Carlo, Monaco (clay) - DOUBLES

Separate thread because of the number of pairs involving at least one Brit:

L32:  Jamie Murray & Rajeev Ram (USA) CR 55 (24+31) vs Hugo Nys & Edouard Roger-Vasselin (MON/FRA) CR 65 (30+35)

L32:  Marcelo Melo & Alexander Zverev (BRA/GER) CR 127 (29+98) vs (7) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 31 (16+15)

L32:  Sebastian Korda & Jordan Thompson (USA/AUS) CR 51 (46+5) vs Jack Draper & Tomás Machac (CZE) CR 284 (209+75)

L32:  Joe Salisbury & Neal Skupski CR 53 (36+17) vs Matthew Ebden & John Peers (AUS/AUS) CR 65 (40+25)
L32:  BYE vs (2) Harri Heliövaara (FIN) & Henry Patten CR 7 (3+4)

I see that Stefanos & Petros T have wangled themselves yet another WC...

And they won their first round match in two sets & an MTB against Christian Harrison & Evan King, which means:

L16:  (WC) Petros Tsitsipas & Stefanos Tsitsipas (GRE/GRE) CR 312 (111+191) vs (7) Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool CR 31 (16+15)

L32:  Jack Draper & Tomás Machac (CZE) CR 286 (208+78) defeated Sebastian Korda & Jordan Thompson (USA/AUS) CR 51 (46+5) by 6-3 7-6(4)  biggrin

They'll probably face the fifth seeds, Granollers & Zeballos, in the last 16.

Well done !! I meant to watch that, but it slipped through. The commentators said Jack 'wasn't on court today' - I knew he was and you would have thought they would also!!

Good win - Thompson is US Open champ and also he and Korda won Madrid 1000 last year, so can play on clay and as a pair. SO that is a good result in what should have been a high quality match

Which says everything about how commentators view doubles.

Good effort - I see Jamie and Rajeev are in more events; is Krajicek injured!

No Krajicek is down at 75 in the rankings now.

I watched the match I thought that gelled really well but Jamie does have a problem with double faults especially in tight moments. However, I am not without hope for the future.

Ok, cool - so is this a long term partnership? Id have hopes on the grass and hardcourts that theyd do quite well
