Naiktha beats Katy 6-4 6-2, although it was very close for most of the match. Still, a good comeback week for Katy.

Great to see Katy back. I was surprised though to see that she was strong betting betting favorite for the match.

She isn't far off Naiktha's level despite being her first week back.

It's not directly relevant but I think it's worth pointing out that that group of women in R2 present a very nice ethnically diverse profile

A great look for GB tennis

Indeed, someone may have had a couple of wee outsider ( why? ) bets on Naiktha and in the men Charles Broom to beat Hamish Stewart.

What odds could one get for Alice, Angelica and Lauren to win these matches? As a triple? All 3 hold a head to head 1-0 career record versus their higher ranked opponents

Current odds for the individual matches on Bet365 are Alice 2.75 Angelica 1.16 Lauren 2.7 - so wrong choice of players for a triple !

Highest odds for any player to win their match are 4.50, lowest is 1.16

Very difficult to predict :-

Alice could beat WR400 but it depends which side of bed she gets out of

Angelica has been on a flier recently and Emma has been "out of sorts"

Lauryn is just back from injury and Ella is also on a flier recently.

An interesting treble smile

Might be worth a 10p flutter

This may come back to bite me, but hey, I'll say it anyway

Angelica will easily win against Emma. Nothing to do with Emma being out of sorts, which I don't agree that she is. Her best level is nowhere near Angelica's. And in live rankings, Angelica is the higher ranked of the two. The bakery could be open. Sorry Emma.

Lauryn and Ella were in very different places in their careers in that h2h win for Lauryn. Ella was transitioning from juniors to pro and going through that difficult season she had. Lauryn is now more focussed on her mentoring and coaching business so hasn't competed for a while. I don't think she has been injured. Lauryn may still push Ella but I think Ella will come through in straight sets.

On paper Tamira should win comfortably, but she is only playing her 2nd tournament back from injury which improves Alice's chances. And we know on her day Alice is better than her ranking. This is the most difficult to call, so I'll bottle it. I expect whoever wins, it will be in 3.
