Katy Dunne is the first past the post, barely drawing breath against Indy Spink - winning 0 & 0

And Tegan next, 6-3 6-1

That's another nice win from Tegan

Out of interest why has the No 2 seed in qualifying been moved to main draw rather than the top seed?

Don't take this as gospel but I think it's because the moving to the main draw is done off the acceptance list - which is the origianl inscription date

Whereas the seedings are done off a later date (the withdrawal date?)

So the #2 seed was actually higher on the acceptance list than the #1 seed (who must have had some good results in the last two weeks - or the #2 seed had some good results from last year that rolled off)

Essentially yes. The seedings will be based on the rankings from the previous Monday or in this case, with Madrid being on, the previous previous Monday. With a Sharm M15 title Ansari moved up from ranked 650 on the acceptance list to WR 613 at 21/04 and top Q seed. But yes, it's still the acceptance list order that determines any moves into the MD. De Zeeuw moved from 638 to 632.

Tx

And 15 year-old Hollie Smart gets her first win over a ranked player (I believe) - and a player in the top-800, no less

I'll go for two :)

Eternal optimist

Marcella Cruz is unranked, that's her doubles ranking above, by the way

Thanks - it isn't even her doubles ranking though, which is 776 so I have no idea where I got that figure from !

I'll amend the WR632 to the corrected UNR/473 that it should be. Gives Eliz a better chance !

The ITF live site should be the go-to site:

https://www.itftennis.com/en/world-tennis-tour-live/

BUT it's not very reliable at the moment

Other tennis score sites are ones like these:

https://www.tennislive.net/wta-women/

And, if all esle fails, the betting sites are very reliable

https://www.bet365.com/?bet=1&affiliate=365_028814&cb=10880615891#/IP/B13

Hope that helps :)

Enjoying watching a bit of Esther's wonderfully irritating tennis

She always had a chippy choppy style - I never really liked it - couldn't help thinking 'just hit the ball, girl' !

But it certainly is quite effective - it's driving the other woman mad !

Juniors doing well and looking very at home at this level
