Emma is enjoying herself so much that she has decided to fit another tournament in before the French Open, she has been offered a WC for Strasbourg.
This is both surprising and really great news, as, in contrast to having concerns a few months back about not over-playing, she must have no niggles she's particularly worried about. The extra tournament will provide her with more experience and confidence about her movement on clay
Yes indeed. By far the better player yesterday. So good to see a player win who seems to enjoy playing. Also a real example of how a player can turn their game from being average to excellent even in the later stages of their career. I know she's only 29 but 18 months ago it would have been hard to see this rise in rankings.

Yes, that's the bit I love too (as well as her being such a joyful player to watch)
Jo Konta did something similar. Katie Boulter not far off too.
As have others
The prime for a woman player is still about 26 years old but that's key - it's not age 18 - and some will be older, obviously, in the same way some will be younger
Go, Jasmine !
(NB I'm still a big Coco fan though, ever since watching all three of her matches live, as she thwacked her way through Wimbly qualis at age 14 or whatever she was)
Paolini and Errani defend their doubles title, winning 6-4 7-5 - having been down 0-4 in BOTH sets. Paolini dancing round the court in celebration. Great match, very entertaining.
