The LTA is gradually updating it's website. Sonay, Fran and Jodie have main draw wild cards.
Definitely get Sonay and Fran, but think Jodies is generous.
Even as a Jodie fan I tend to agree.
Who would you have picked?
I know she is in the US but would like to see a bit of help for Katie Swan. Mimi needs a week off after her excellent exploits ready for the next tournament.
I should justify that last comment. Th empowers that be have been very generous with the distribution of mens wildcar. Much as I admit Jodie has a high profile, that seems to be pushing her to the front. Ella is another one I may have gone for. Anyway all hypothetical now. I just think for some players it should be last and final chance. Lovely to see Brooke and Mika get a swing though.
Much as Jodie's form this year has been disappointing since the Aus Open, as I was saying in another thread, I do think she still looked a fairly clear and reasonable choice for the final MD WC. And as has pointed out, she did miss the whole of last year's grass season during her 6 months out. Don't see her as being near any "final chance" category for now. Certainly Jodie before Ella and I think Katie S is better easing her way back into things at rather lower levels. Good choice of MD and Q WCs IMO.

yes I take your point. I think it is a bit of frustration at the abysmal performance in Birmingham last week. It was super to see Mimi come through in her WTA 125 debut, but it was a lot on those young shoulders as the last British woman standing. A few more around her might have helped. So I will try not to rant on, and hope you are tight about Jodie. We do have three super juniors coming through and there will come a time when some of the WCs will be history, God willing.
