RE: Boys & Girls: 2025 French Open, clay (Week 23)

... since Elizabeth Jones 1982 - as per DavidC's post above.

Good luck to Hannah in the semi.  My view is a Tagger / Klugman final with Tagger sneaking it :(

Great nail-biting win from Hannah, through to the semis.

Goodness me that was nerve-wracking. Another match with a fluctuating score. But what a great result!!

Oh wow, well done Hannah. Im quite wrung out lol. I was also really concerned about the trapped flying insect on one of the cameras. I do hope it found its own way out or was kindly liberated

i think that fly was probably just on the outside - he/she just buzzed off when it had had enough :)

Last finalist was Michelle Tyler (eventual winner) in 1976.

Nice one! Well done Hannah

What result does she need to take Mikas top British girl spot? Or cant she?

Well done Hannah. I was just reading an article where Hannah was saying she preferred clay to grass. Think I can understand why. Great effort.

I don't know if I've got this right as I haven't really followed the junior rankings, but I think today's result will just take Hannah above Mika

Hannah is the lowest ranked (WTA) of the 4 semifinalists: Emerson Jones (206), Rositsa Dencheva (439), Lilli Tagger (508), Hannah Klugman (572). The 2 semis are back to back on court 10, with the other one starting at 10am. Oli+ are fourth on court 6

SF

(1) Emerson Jones (AUS) v Lilli Tagger (AUT)
(8) Hannah Klugman v Rositsa Dencheva (BUL)

Boys Doubles QF

(8) Bonding/Leach (GBR/USA) d. (4) Alexandrescou/Tabata (ROU/JPN) 6-3 6-4

SF

(7) Johnston/Willwerth (USA) v (8) Bonding/Leach (GBR/USA)

Yes I agree, and given Mika and Mimi have all but stopped playing Junior events Hannah is likely to stay there for some time, unless Mika or Mimi enters and does particularly well at Wimbledon.

Surely Mika will play Wimbledon?

Exams season will be long finished by then.

I think DavidC is talking trajectory here. Mimi is currently around 380 in the senior ranking. She is well above Henry Searle who entered Wimbledon at the last opportunity , which he of course won. I cannot really see the benefit unless she thought she could win it. Mika seems to be going Mimis route, looking to move forward building her senior ranking. Hannah I think wont be happy in juniors until she lands a junior slam or two, and I wouldnt be surprised if she did especially as the likes of Emerson moves through to seniors. So exciting times for the three of them. Will just have to wait and see what transpires.

Yes, 100%, IMO

Mimi may well play too, I certainly expect her to (subject to surprises in Wimbly adults)

Lots of combinations still but I think Mika will drop to around 10th, and Hannah will be a minimum of 7th and more likely 6th.  If Hannah wins tomorrow she would get to 3rd or 4th.
