A shame for Jay but young Leandro is one of those Laura Robson sort of players - SO much promise, so much success as a junior and then just a biblical plague of injuries .....

I really hope it's behind him now - he's had at least two big knee surgeries

Hadn't appreciated that Billy has another chance to crack Top 100 this week.

He would need to win the title for any chance of top 100. That could in theory get him to WR 96 and while this early in the week there are still lots of others who could also get there, I reckon it would probably sneak him in.

In the coming 2 weeks he defends two 100 points scores! ( from his Queen's QF and Eastbourne SF ) so I was always looking at this week as his probable last top 100 opportunity for the foreseeable. But it has become a tough ask.

The pity was the big window that he did have where he had hardly anything to defend but then added hardly anything.

Big week and big win there for JoMo.

I reckon Wimbledon MDs WCs will be going to Jay, Jan and Dan. JoMo putting his hand up for the next one.
