It's almost sad watching how much Harriet has regressed since the Australian Open.
I'm keen to see Fran finally break the top 100 so would be quite happy for her to go on and win this and keep nudging in the right direction, but once Harriet loses her round 3 points from last year's Wimbledon it's not obvious to me how she gets anywhere near the top 100 again playing like this. The sheer desperation, stress and anxiety which I think is underpinning some of this behaviour is borderline worrying (I know some will say it's seems to stem from an almost sense of entitlement/being spoilt).

Frankly given how poor her recent form has been (not to mention her behaviour) i'm not sure Harriet deserves a Wimbledon MDWC although I still expect she'll receive one,
I read this as Hannah, and I was so confused. Then I re-read it and understood.
I don't support Harriet any longer, but I think she's guaranteed one. She made the 3R here last year and in 2019. Her ranking is in the range, and she has other grand slam wins on the counters (US Open 24' and Australian Open 25'). Her form is awful at the moment, and I don't think she deserves rewards based on her behaviour - but she does have a far more experience and pedigree at this level.
I don't think either of Hannah or Mika are ready, Hannah had a really amazing clay court season in the juniors - which is highly exciting. I think she should build on that for a bit and then next year let's see where she's at. Mika has had a horrid run of form since her US Open win - bar her win in the quallies here, there hasn't been much else to shout about. Both should get quallie wildcards only.
For a set and a half the youngsters were right in it against the second seeds, but couldn't cope with an increase in level and lost 2-6 6-3 10-4
Great effort
Wimbly doubles wildcard
I know it's Wimbledon an' all, but if Hannah has ambitions of going deep in Junior Wimbledon, wouldn't she be better served getting more matches in on grass playing Roehampton than playing what's likely to be 1 doubles match at Wimbledon? Mika withdrew from Roehampton today.
I take the point but, whatever her ambitions, I'm pretty sure she wouldn't turn down a Wimbledon place just to potentially play more Roehampton J300 matches
Well, I guess Hannah now has MD singles at Wimbledon too, as well as doubles, - which rather changes and confirms things
I couldn't go again today, but caught some of the second set. Fran was showing plenty of resistance, saving 19 of the 23 breakpoints Noskova had, and making it quite a long match for the scoreline, but essentially Linda appeared to have too much power
Stats says she only won 60% of her service points first set to Linette's 77% so she'll probably need to improve or have Linette dip to come through this but she was just one or two points from reaching a tiebreak which seems good going
Yes really positive stuff overall from Mimi. 3 doubles in one game to get broken suggest the wheels are starting to come off a bit now, but lots to take away from this
