Really impressed with Mimi; some fantastic weapons, and really great to see her try and succeed in bossing the points. However she fares this grass court season, it's what we want to see.

From what I remember from her last grass season it's a massive step up regardless! Remember her in last years qualifying and she didn't look ready but looks comfortable now well done to her!

I have just rewound the BBC stream and watched her first set. This is the first time I have watched her for quite a while and with the best quality TV and I'm very impressed with her.
Always believed in Mimi. Though got the impression from her junior results that hard courts were her best surface. Super to see her starting to make great strides. Well done Mimi!
Watching Katie and Sonay, the inconsistency of Katies game is getting quite worrying really. Has Bilijana left her team as the commentator has frequently mentioned that Damian Rodriguez is her coach, I thought he was her hitting partner?

i saw her for the first time on grass
Playing Nationals the year it was done at Surbiton
She was playing Eva Shaw - and was only 13 or 14 years old !
As paulisi says, the big forehand and serve really stood out - that ball stayed hit !
And she was a strong athletic girl for her age - dwarfed the others
Eva won but Mimi got a 'player-to-be-watched' in everyone's book that day, I'm sure
The others have caught up in size but her movement has got a lot better, so the power now has more control. And, yes, she likes her slice
