Jan has the edge on Paul at the moment, 4-2. Really though Paul would have the grass court savvy but Jan doing well, it seems. So far.

Potentially big matches and big next day or two for Ryan and Paul.

Certainly neither to my mind has a clear Wimbledon MD WC case. Maybe now or never?

Both fighting back:
Ryan 5-7 6-4, into a 3rd set
Paul 3-6 3-0*

Another year another shocker for the Nottingham mens scheduler (Laura Robson?)

After a wholly avoidable case of Evo vs Charlie Broom indoors last year, we now dont have mens qualies finished on a dry weekend. When will there be some accountability?

It can't be Laura Robson, surely, biggrin given she was at Queens all weekend where she's the tournament director there, and has been all week, and was watching the final and shaking hands with winners and finalists this afternoon

I think Paul has a decent shout - hes played some grass, looked good against Cilic last week at Ilkley. And not writing Jan off.

or then again , Ryan biggrin

No, I should have more faith. I felt Ryan was in improving form pre grass, and tipped him for most grass wins as I thought maybe hed pick up wins in challengers. But his early form wasnt good on the grass. This is a good win though!

And at 8.47 pm, Paul and Jan have embarked on a 3rd set.

Its hard to see them finishing. Maybe 30 mins of playable light left? 9.20/25?

if they dont finish, do they leave drawing the qualifiers into the main draw until they are finished or do they do it anyway?

Of the 12 matches completed in the mens, 9 went to 3 sets and 6 went to 2 hours. And Paul and Jan is also going to 3 sets and played nearly 2 hours. Tbf, I think they got unlucky with that.
