Week 25 - ATP 500 - HSBC Championships - The Queen's Club, London, Great Britain (grass) - DOUBLES

What a shame for the British pair. David would have been guaranteed a place in the iop 100 if they had won. He does not have an established
partner. He has a wilcard for Wimbledon doubles with JoMo.

They did well when you consider the gap in ranking.

It looks like David has secured top 100 OK.

As Jon said earlier in the thread he was provisionally showing as live #97. Now shows as live #98 with no-one that can overtake him.

Some drama here... Lloyd & Julian were 3-1 up in the second, having broken Harri. Then Harri obviously took issue with something Lloyd did, and they had words at the net. In the subsequent few games, Henry went right for Lloyd at the net (he had to duck) and then Lloyd tagged Henry with an overly-aggressive smash. Lloyd & Julian have now lost 4 in a row to be 3-5.

Oo err, it promised to be a bit tasty, with the previous partnerships plus Henry & Harri on for being joint WR 1 if they won the tournament. And certainly seems that it was!

Of course, that WR 1 spot is now not going be achieved this week, won't be achieved next week, and then they defend their Wimbledon title 2000 points while Arevalo & Pavic defend QF 360 points.

Seems the chance has gone. Be interesting to read Harris blog when he writes it

Lloyd will replace Neal as top 10 with a win today. Good luck to Julian and Neal.

Was anything more said about the Lloyd and Harri/Henry confrontation- eg at the net - or was this it.

Seems this is it - Lloyds girlfriend said something and Harri told her to shut up, leading to words etc

All apologised for now

Ha, but not to Lloyd?

He has never seemed a forum favourite. I know nothing of the guy but I do recall years ago when I used to go on twitter a bit. I didn't take to his online persona. He seemed to take pleasure in being rather rude and using naughty words and came across as quite entitled re such as court allocation.

I read the translation as saying that Sophia had apologised to Harri after their previous match (in Miami) for doing the same thing.

But I'm with Lloyd on this - you don't shout at someone's girlfriend to shut up across a crowded tennis court.

The camera did pan to Sophia, who looked like she was just having a good time and chatting with friends.

The fact that Harri skirts around the issue in his blog probably indicates a level of regret. He was down and he lashed out. Not a good look from someone who I admire a lot.

I meant Lloyd and Julian of course but maybe a slip that was deeper in my psyche?!

Yeah, thats my take- harri regretted it I think and is trying to move on, clearly he shouldnt have done it. Not sure why Henry whacked a ball at Lloyd, seems like they all missed and made up. Harris blog goes out of its way to praise Lloyd and Julian and Henry in other interviews described them as possibly the top pair at the money on fast courts and future slam winners.

suspect the pressure of number one spot got to harri, again, and started this ball rolling!
