I'm almost certainly missing something.
Other than Ms. Watson's Mixed Doubles win, is this not the equal biggest doubles win for a British woman in at least 40 years?
We've won a good number of 250s (previously, 'International') and 125s in the years since, again, Ms. Watson, broke our long-standing duck at Stanford with her Kiwi compatriot, Ms. Erakovic in July, 2012.
But I can't remember us ever having won a 500 (Previously, 'Premier') in the interrim.
Ms. Rae, Smith, Broady, Lumsden, Barnett, and Ms. Watson again, all won at 250/125 level(s) at least once each, but never at 500 level.
That is excepting that aforementioned Stanford win. At time of winning, that was simply a 'Premier'. Now it is officially recorded as a Premier 700, though that classification did not come in until the year after Watson & Erakovic won.
So, arguably, as a Premier 700 it is a bigger win.
But, it's the same tier.
What I'm asking is: have I foolishly missed out an even bigger British Womens doubles win (750, 1000, Premier Mandatory, Slam etc) since 2012? Or, is this the best win for decades, and should we not be more enthused for it?

I can't think of a 500 win or above either, but will have a look and see. Not many here comment on doubles but I think you'll find that those that do are very enthusiastic.

I've had a look and can't see anything else.
Incidentally, in checking, I found something that might be unique in doubles for Samantha Murray Sharan. She won doubles titles at all of: $10K, $25K, W25, W25+H, W40, W50, W60, W80 & W100 levels. Can't be too many that can match that!

I think Premier could be considered the same as a WTA 500. There were also Premier Mandatory and Premier 5, which could be considered WTA1000. Although it is Apples and oranges.
