Another really good effort from Mimi. So impressed with how she's developing.

A lot will depend on the draw and how she handles the occasion, but quite excited for her Wimbledon Main Draw debut next week. Think she will impress a lot of new fans.

Agree. Coming along nicely. Considering Peyton reached the semis in Rome, this was a good performance and good experience in torrid weather conditions. Whats the betting she is straight back out on the practice court.Hopefully tomorrow!

Either Stearn's serves are not particularly fast or Mimi has very fast reactions because she was often pretty much on the baseline to receive the first serve and inside the baseline for the 2nd serve.

She was really emotional post match interview. Hope she is OK.

She seemed upset at Eastbourne last year as well IIRC.

According to reports something happened before the match which she chose not to expand on. Fran was in her corner with Petfhet and she , Fran, is aware of what it was and was a big support

Dont know if its this stalker again, but cant be nice to go on court when not feeling mentally well.

Said it was bad news. Fran did a great job lifting Emmas spirit. Great to see all the ladies fighting hard today, gutted for Harriet, but some good performances. Also some fighting play at Wimbledon qualies. Justifies some of the choices the LTA have made, especially as Boisson fell at the first hurdle.

I'm wondering if Nick Cavaday is more unwell or something. I thought he was going to be with her for the grass court season? He was in Paris... I think? Was he at Queens?

I thought it was just the wind that really bothered her last year.  She's a bit better at coping with it now it seems and  the forecast today is slightly less windy,  I believe.

Harriet out of the top 150. She will need a win at Wimbledon to not fall into the 190s post Wimby.

Yes - if you look at the mens and the womens, no player from the playoffs earned a win (I'm delighted for Hamish but to be one set down and 5-6 down and get a retirement is not an 'earned' win)

So that's zero out of 6 wildcard playoff qualifiers

Whereas all the earned wins - all 6 of them - were from LTA picks

Jodie broken 4-5*

Horror drive volley miss on her second game point. Shame, Krej is about as poor as she was yesterday, definitely beatable again but Jodie can't quite get herself in front.
