Jodie's thriving under home support. We're going all the way to a third set tie break.

Jodie had 40-0* at 6-5. Ouch. Ouch ouch ouch.

First two fair enough, third she was in the rally and just so passive until Babs got a winner. That was the chance.

Two against Harriet, three against Jodie. Brits really missing the chance for a big upset!!

Think this was a missed opportunity for a big win. Played pretty well and fought hard to get back into the second set

Emma came back and turned that around, first set 6-4

Re her upset, also I wondered re Nick C. Thoughts go out to him and his family.

Emma looks more involved than she did in the Li match so far.

There wasnt any- Emma got upset during and after her win in round one and said shed had some bad news before the match; she didnt want to say anymore about it to the press but mentioned Fran, who was in her box, and supported her and a good friend was aware of it and supported her. The Nick element is speculation and probably wrong of me to speculate.

Good fight from 2-5 to *5-5, then has to break again at 5-6*, but loses the tiebreak. Too passive on a couple of important points, just misses a dropshot, and Joint gets a friendly netcord before sealing with an ace.

Shame, but not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The extra days rest/prep for next week probably helpful.
