Hannah's on, and is 0*-3 down...

This is a worrying struggle. Would be expecting as bit more competition again Lamens on grass. Needs to settle down.

Hopefully Hannah picks up! Only 2nd match on grass this summer it's a shame she's not been able to get more.

I went for a break at 0-5, and surprised to come back to 2*-5

The Grass Season is short. The players never get enough practice.

Maybe she will take a leaf out of Mimis book when she is a bit older and ditch the clay for the grass? Seems to have worked for Mimi and got her some valuable senior ranking points.

Hannah was being schooled for the first 4 games

Backhand looking particularly vulnerable

And Lamens not putting a foot wrong

But there's been some better, far closer tennis since then

Hannah has broken, hit some winners, landed a few good serves

Agreed and Hannah going far at the FO juniors meant basically none. My only critique was I wish she had done Qualies at Nottingham but hey ho she's picked up a bit now biggrin

Hold on, super Hannah is up and running! Pulled it back to 5-4 and serving to bring up 5-5. Some great tennis in the last few games. Come on Hannah!

After losing 5 on the bounce, Hannah wins 4 on the bounce

The backhand errors are costly

Lamens is really focusing on that side

Hannah doesn't stay down and so the balls fly long

BUT there's been some really good tennis in the second half of the set (whereas the first half had no positives)

Yeah agree CD. It got much better and it's a useful reminder that unlike the juniors, these pros work out your weaknesses quite quickly and hammer them relentlessly. Able to get away with much more against juniors and at 15k (even 35k) level than she can here.

As against Poots, some very obvious stuff being shown up that are great lessons and things to work on over the next 12 months as she keeps growing too.

And just getting 50% first serves in, while winning only 25% of second serve points - is not exactly rocket science either!

That was a really poor game

She was 40-15 up

And then made some really careless forehands

It's like I'll just steer them, not hit them, to be a bit more careful, or whatever

And then the Dfs

*0-3 and looking lost now.

But it's a sunny day and a great crowd, so not all bad.

Hannah breaks back at 0-4* and moves to 30-0* on the next Lamens game, but errors creep back in and the threat is snuffed out.

*2-5
