My god she does it. Hits the front at *8-7, two more match points. Gets the short ball off the return but just jabs at it. It looks like Palicova has an opportunity to pass as Emily watches the ball sail past her. It's out!
Woohoo!!! Now work on some short balls off the return before tomorrow morning please haha. I am THRILLED for her.

Good win.
Emily has always struggled mentally. She had a long spell when she couldn't win at 25k and I think her first win at Wimbledon qualifiers will do her a world of good
That was so frustrating and tense to watch that I had to go off and do posts in the junior section from time to time. Nevertheless well done to Emily for overcoming the catalogue of missed breakpoints and matchpoints. She is second match on court 4 tomorrow
Erjavec is an old doubles partner of EWS. Very solid, good mover, fit but no real scary weapons and not a natural grass courter.
If Emily had came through in 2 I'd be quietly confident but the poor girl will be physically and mentally exhausted after that. Has a chance regardless.

Two long old matches! But yes if she's more ruthless as well... she's been by far the better player both games so far! But gone long in both.
By far the better player in both - feels hugely generous - albeit I only saw today in person with Tuesday being on TV.
I argue such a consistently execrable performance on big points is so fundamental to winning or losing tennis matches that it is impossible to claim you are easily better. Apologies for the Scrooge behaviour, obviously her wins the last two days are fantastic.
