The problem for Emily is this is the third year in a row she's done this. Was in winning positions the last two years and lost in three. She's got an early break in the second now at least *2-0
Tbf, I didn't think Katie was one who gave her match away nor that she really looked to me the better player whenever she raised her game.
To my mind, on the day it was a competitive match between two similar quality players. Katie fought pretty well and came out the wrong side of two TBs.

Lily a break down as well...
So is not learning then... but Who gets given the chances if there all doing it?
It's more just it doesn't stop being a huge and scary opportunity! And on grass Emily App is always there or there abouts with the top 200 players, the matches are just lost on those very fine margins.
So I don't think it's that Emily isn't learning or not improving. These are just good players she's in a bit of a coin toss match with, and when the crunch moment comes, the fact you are ranked 200 players lower suddenly starts to matter.
It's tense for everyone. The girls are playing above their normal level, getting over the line is really hard.

I get that but these are the margins but again 40-0 up 3-1 up and broken... not downplaying her ability just if you do it over and over what do you want as analysis?
