Brilliant!

Emily showed a few people there, including me at times.

Generally a really good final set, got the break when a totally shanked second serve gave her 4-3* 40-15 and the vital break 2 points later. And then she saw it home in a close final game

Lily fell away in the third, just couldn't find the level of tennis she needed once her opponent dialed herself back in. 6-4 4-6 6-2

Ranah lost her way sadly. Was broken again then missed a break point in a long game to go *3-5 down.

Marni misses two set points, failed to get her return in off a middling second serve on the second.

*5-4

Ranah into a third. Drat. 7-5 4-6 *0-0. Was looking good but Kawa definitely upped her game when she was in a hole at a set and a break down. Ranah couldn't quite match it, but all to play for.

Looks like we wont be getting many through to round 2! Shame, as it sounds like so many of the he girls were close but not quite there this grass season without the challengers events has felt a bit lacking tbh:

Yep, thanks for the prep time not for quite a few, LTA.

Marni fallen asleep at the wheel in this second set 0-4*

3 long deuce games for Ranah, but she's just been broken after Kawa hits the line three times and finishes with a beaut of a volley 1-2*
