This delightful interview with Matthew Syed took me back to my schooldays & brought back some lovely memories.  Sadly, Roger, now 83, is not in the best of health, but, with true Yorkshire grit, seems to be making light of it.

I loved Roger Taylor, I think he was part of the Handsome 8 that started the WCT tour post tennis going open. Thanks for posting this, SC.

We saw him at the old Huddersfield Open and Hallamshire Open in Sheffield, when there was a thriving pre Wimbledon grass circuit around the late 70s.
