I think those first two very close games where Sonay had chances could end up proving to have been rather important.

Parry looks very much the more dangerous when there is any sort of rally. Hopefully that hold helps our girl settle down. But she's still far to far behind the baseline.

It has worked for her. Her movement is quick as she is a set and 4-0 up

Sonay could reach the quarters here, the next couple of matches are winnable - tough but winnable.

If Sonay reaches the QFs and Emma loses to Sabalenka, Sonay will become the British number 1.

Live-tenis.eu and OER agree that Katie will have 1278 points Sonay would have 1217 points and Emma 1211 points, so Katie has it.

If Sonay reaches the QF she will have 1416 points which is currently showing as WR32

What a bizarre tennis match. Diane Parry 4-1 up in the first set and then the wheels just fell off.

Yep, quarters would do it, if Emma lost to Sabalenka or indeed won but then lost in R4.

She was 1-4 down camped that far behind. It changed up when she relaxed into the match, got more depth and width on the ball and moved closer to the baseline. As soon as she stopped letting Parry push her around side to side she absolutely bossed it, made Parry start to doubt and was laser focused in her execution of plays and so clean off the ground.

Amazing performance, so proud of her.

Come on Sonay so mentally mature! Found out how to win and just plugged away. So happy for her!

Ice cool Sonay gets the job done. Would give Chris Evert a run for her money. The ultimate ice queen.

I love her game and her attitude. She just cracks on with it and is really good to watch. I think she will be our British number 1 very soon no matter what. Emma might have the star power and obviously grand slam potential, but I think Sonay will be the most consistent of the three right now

I remember watching her in ITFs and wondering how far she could go with her rather different game. Still wondering!

Katie should be made to watch that match. Kept calm and controlled throughout
