Weeks 27 & 28 - The Championships, Wimbledon (Womens') (grass) - Doubles

Not playing badly at all, just extremely strong opponents. I love how positive and encouraging Hev is being towards Emily. She's having a lot of fun.

Really good to see. They have both already shown real ability on a doubles court with quite a number of senior titles with a range of different partners. Today reaffirms  it.

Live rankings with a nice 130 points for reaching R2:

Ella: Live ranked #173, live u20 #4, live GB #10

Mimi: Live ranked #200, live u20 #6, live u18 #1, live GB #12

Was going to say Mimi cant be number one, Mirra must be, but of course Mirra is a year older now! How underrated is Ella though? I think she is a really good player, just needs a couple of good breaks  and she could be following the Sonay route to the top 100. .

Yes, Mirra is ever so slightly ahead of Mimi for live u19 doubles ranking    - but Mimi is #2.

It appears that Beatriz and Laura did actually play on Friday, so...

L32:- Jodie Burrage (GBR) / Sonay Kartal (GBR) CR659 (159+500) [WC] v Beatriz Haddad Maia (BRA) / Laura Siegemund (GER) CR57 (35+22) [11]

First set gone 3-6. With a bit of coaching on court positioning and when to intercept Sonay could become a good doubles player. Almost there but has been caught out a few times.

No disgrace. Loads of promise. Good to see Nigel Sears between Mimis mum and dad. Wonder if Ella and Mimi will enter the doubles in Nottingham. They are around the same level now in ranking so more opportunity to play together. Lovely for Ella to get on court with a slam champion and for Mimi together on court with two. Lots still to come.

Watched a great match on No 1 court between the #2 and #8 seeds. Kudermetova and Mertens edged it over Dabrovski and Routliffe 7-5 7-6
