Week 28 - ATP Challenger 50 - Nottingham, Great Britain (grass)

The bookies' odds that I am seeing are the same for each SF.

Hamish 8/13 vs Kyle 6/5
Jack 8/13 vs Oliver 6/5

Given that I'd certainty put Oliver ahead of Kyle, I would imagine that they have Jack favourite for the title.

Imagine Hamish out of knowhere wins a challenger though! All be it a weak one still! The odds look right to me as we predicted... but tennis is a funny game! Good luck to all :)

Hoping for a Jack win but wouldnt mind whoever. Would be nice to see Kyle in a final again.

I feel like Jack is going to be the Jake of this summer. Hopefully Johannes can keep moving on up too. Aus open qualifying could have a lot of brits next year. US open is looking good for this year too.

Caught some of Kyle's match. Great to see him have a real run at a tournament. Across his many comeback attempts there has been the occasional good win but he has struggled to string any kind of results together. Forever hopeful that this might be the sign that he is getting back to his level.

Have to say, he looks a lot trimmer than the last time I watched. Perhaps he is now sufficiently injury free to be able to train at the level he needs.

Interesting final. Both having big climbs regardless of the final result.

Kind of feel like Kyle needs the win more.

I think a win for Kyle is being able to play relatively consistently.  He's off next week then playing the following week then off again, which, IMO, is smart when the body is fragile.

Hopefully in a month or 2 he'll be able to manage 2 on 1 off.

Who do folks reckon for these semis? Oli v JPJ and Kyle v Hamish?

No previous head to heads. Tennis Abstract fancies Kyle and Jack, with Kyle to win the final.

Id go Hamish and Oli, in fact, with Oli to take the title. Haha

Turned out Tennis Abstract called it right

Congrats to Jack. Almost a 100 place rise following this.

Great week for Kyle. Hope he can build on this.

Would be very happy to see this tournament return next year, it does seem to have effectively fulfilled what I assume is its purpose, and handed out a bunch of points and prize money to our players, despite the slightly sad crowd numbers.
