Katie's record in finals is outrageous, never really in doubt at this level.
I kinda get what you're saying emmsie69, in that Swan is still capable of competing at a higher level than W35, and yes it's an impressive winning record in ITF finals. Though, these matches still need winning, they're not straightforward, especially so soon after a year or two in the injury doldrums. The R2 match here was really nip and tuck, and in the final today, the 1st set was a humdinger of a shoot-out which easily could have gone the other way, it was that close. It says as much about Swan's grit and determination to prevail, as it does about skill and fitness.
I always assume that when a British sports fan says "never really in doubt" after a victory that they have just spent the last three hours on the edge of their seat on a white-knuckle rollercoaster of emotions, with at least some of the time hiding behind the sofa.

You got me down to a tee, christ.

Since her comeback began my only worries have been about her remaining healthy during matches, but she has played one or two with a reasonable ranking. Where she's at now, I was confident she could beat someone in the 200's 3 times out of 4, al though admittedly with Hruncakova, it was probably 1 time out of 4. But after the first set I had no doubts.
