What a SUPER win !

Well done, Ms Dudeney

I SO enjoyed that one (and the kerching)

Alicia has always had such a nice 'stately' style of tennis

Sarah RR looked a little flat, but she's crafy with her leftiness and Alicia really had to stay calm, especially when she was behind in the second set

To beat the top seed, a top-200 player, at home - it doesn't get much better

SF:- Alicia Dudeney (GBR) WR1152 [WC] v Yeonwoo Ku (KOR) WR363

SF:- Hiromi Abe (JPN) WR342 [8] v Hannah Klugman (GBR) WR665 [JE]

Alicia projected to be up to around WR850 after today's results and Hannah around WR600, although live rankings aren't an exact science, particularly this week !

This is really Hannahs to lose now. Ive seen nothing in the others that so scary.

Hannah does have her off days though.

Both on court 5 - Hannah at 10:30 with Alicia to follow. The men are on court 3 at the same time. Doubles finals to follow.
The order of play is on the ITF tournament website

In addition, Hannah would almost certainly get a wildcard and is only 1 place out of direct entry and Ranah, who was a very late withdrawal again is still on the entry list.

I don't think she wants to use up a wildcard here

But yes, direct entry would be nice

Of course, assuming she needs it - better just to win tomorrow and it all goes away

All academic now. 2 withdrawals from Aldershot, one of which is Ranah, puts Hannah in the main draw unless there is that rare occurrence of both SE spots being taken - aside from Alicia I've not checked to see if anyone else in the qualifying list could still take one.

7 DA plus 4 wildcards and a weak qualifying draw. Should see another loaded GB main draw

 Thanks, Lambda smile

I looked at the quali list (as the SEs have to come from there) and the vast majority are Brits so we know they're not still playing anywhere

And I checked the other four or five and there's no one still going

So that looks good

Beyond Aldershot, Hannah was going to do the junior warmup J300 event at College Park, USA on the 18th but has withdrawn and has entered a W15 in Logrono, Spain and not doing any warm-ups before the US Open Junior tournament.  This suggests a switch in focus, only doing the Junior grand slams going forward and concentrating on the main tour.

In the recent interview I posted in her thread, she was very clear that juniors is just for practice, that's what she and Ben decided a little while back, her word was 'practice'

And that's a decent strategy - it's difficult to find match situations where you can just practice your nes schemes of play, as opposed to worrying about points, the result etc
