Id be surprised if she's able to get there more than a few hours before match time. Kat only finished her semi-final in Gran Canadian late this afternoon. Still, it's a couple of hundred quid.

There are direct flights from Gran Canaria in mid afternoon to Vigo or Santiago (aprox 100km away) but later on a Saturday is a problem. Probably Madrid and then 5 hours up the motorway

Well they made it, via Madrid and a long drive. They both have qualifying matches starting not before 16:30.

Ekaterina Ovcharenko (Kat or Katya) - Em's doubles partner. They've been playing together since October

"why is she still playing?"

"because she still enjoys it, and is still good enough."

Well done Em

Well done, Em - definitely deserved

There were several MTOs for Kate Mansfield which may well have been 100% genuine but they did come at very 'convenient' times, twice just as Em had got some momentum
