Her mum was very vocal about the number of balls a young player has to hit to ever make it as a pro

Which obviously got her rather a lot of publicity at the time - not necessarily of the good sort

I saw her at Redhill, and at one of the others, can't remember which one

Yes, she's quoted as saying 10,000 by 18, which seems....not very many at all? 20 balls a week for 10 years!

 Yes, I know biggrin

Although I think there was some journalistic c*ck-up here as she was (I assume) just quoting (or trying to quote) the traditional 10,000 hours theory (which - to me - was like doing 10,000 steps or 5 fruit/veg a day - just some bunkum number that it's easy to remember). Anyway, it gets you to the 10,000,000 balls theory - you have to hit 1000 balls per hour, and play for 10,000 hours, and then you'll get to the magic 10,000,000 which is some sort of open sesame number (apparently)

Which is not too surprising, given the past few weeks' form cry

Hannah vs Brooke match is 3rd on Centre and the first match has only just finished.  Very tempting to go and watch it after work today.

 Yes, and Henry's isn't racing along - they're 4-3 in the first

Go for it - and let us know how it is, ringside biggrin

I was thinking the same but don't think I'll be home in time cry

Does Aldershot have any sort of stand type arrangements for this? And are any spectators turning up? Presumably it is free on the gate?

Sadly, circa 6 hours drive from North Yorkshire, so won't be something for me biggrin

No stands that I am aware of. Camera suggests a single park bench!  It is in the middle of the MoD base but I assume we can get access.

I'm looking at Henry's match (which is on centre court, where Hannah v Brooke is next) and it definitely has three or four pub table things - you know, the all-in-one table top with a bench either side fixed on

Not much to be happy this week or since Wimbledon really.

Hopefully Hannah or Brooke and go all the way now.

Well, we've played eight points and Hannah has won all eight - with five clean winners and three direct faults from Brooke

Hang in, Brooke, it will get better, it has to
