I saw all of it and I honestly don't think there was any conundrum - Harmony plays a pretty standard sort of tennis
In the first set, Harmony just played very, very well and Hannah couldn't believe that she was getting to good balls of hers AND hitting super shots off them - Hannah simply hasn't played enough people of that level
In the second, Harmony made a few more errors, Hannah played well at the start - the same level as the first. Then got a bit frustrated in the middle - and went 1-4 down. And I thought it was done and dusted
But she hung in well - didn't hand it to the French woman - who was getting just slightly worried (her team (well, one person) was certainly getting quite vocal, and a little agitated)
Hannah's volleys were too timid (she came in quite a lot which wasn't wrong - but the approaches were normally one ball late and then the volleys were a bit tame)
She tended to watch her 'great' shots and then be gobsmacked that they came back as opposed to being ready for them to come back
There were obviously a few too many errors at certain parts, but a lot were 'normal' errors, only a few in the second set were what I'd call really poor errors, the others and the first set were fine
It was a good learning match. And a pretty good match all told.
Great summary CD. Agreed she spent too much time standing watching her ball rather than recovering and anticipating having to play another. Caught herself out a few times but the result was a fair one and overall a good standard of tennis at this level. Onwards.
