Albeit on grass, I saw Billy beat Gojo at Ilkley very comfortably. Presuming courts are fast ish , Dan should surely win this. Jake has a good draw as well. two wins?

So we have 3 players in the US Open.

One has not played a single match in US hard season

One seems to have illness every week

One seems to be carrying an injury and has zero form

Hmm

At least our rather good ( in quantity ) qualifying contingent come in in great form and have been ripping it up on American hard courts. Oh, wait ...

Ah, but there's our women, well there's Emma, who will probably end up unseeded and draw Swiatek in R1.

More often to be seen playing on the Futures circuit.

L32:  (LL) Karl Poling (USA) WR 630 (CH = 542 in May) vs Daniel Evans WR 128

If Dan can't win that one...

Not a very auspicious inaugural event in Sumter!  no
