Emma faces a qualifier, with potentially Kudermetova [24] in the second round and Rybakina[9] in the third round. Katie faces Kostyuk [27] in the first round, with Keys [6] potentially in the third round Sonay face Haddad Maia [18] in the first round, with Svitolina [12] potentially in the third round

And compared to the seedings we were hoping she'd get. Kessler (32) ends up with Linette then Vondousova before Paolini.
I think they're about equal in difficulty.
Fernandez, (31) would get a qualifier before Bouzkova and then Sabalenka (1), which is probably tougher.
Yastamenska (30) gets a qualifier before Azarenka and then Pegula (4).
I'd argue that Emma that none of them will reach round 4, but Emma has the lowest ranked round 3 opponent.
I think Osaka (23) is the lowest seed to have an "easier" path than Emma to round 4.
The reality is, as a non seed, Emma needs to get to round 3 to be "profitable" and round 4 would be fantastic.
And she has a very good shot at getting to round 3, and in reality a decent at round 4. There's no guarantee that Rybakina makes it to round 3, though Wildcard, Bronzetti doesn't shout problems.
It looks as if Emma missed seeding by one place, Kessler seed 32 is immediately above Emma in the rankings.
Emma beat Kudermetova earlier this year. She got hammered by Rybakina but that was in Sydney in 2022 when she was trying to adjust to fame and riches and all that brought with it.

Exactly right - Emma has said her aim is to get seeded for Australia and this is a great chance to move up the rankings.

Correction Yastremska plays Pavlyuchenkova in the first round. Winner plays Azarenka or a qualifier.
That is not a fantastic draw for Emma! Rybakina r3 Paolini in r4 And then Sabakenka!
Agree. Even a qualifier in round 1 could be tricky depending on who she draws. Kudermetova in round 2 will be difficult as she is playing really quite well now and has the game to make life very difficult for Emma, especially if she serves well. Honestly can't see Emma beating Rybakina even though she's been inconsistent this year.
Sonay has a decent shot as Haddad Maia is in terrible form. Likewise Katie Boulter is playing someone in poor form and possibly carrying an injury.
All could get to round 3 but anything further would be a bonus.

Emma lost in R1 last year so surely any win is profitable?
