Well done Cam.

Hope he can take out Novak next.

Oh, how sweet would that be !!

If Jake could also take out Zverev (who shouldn't even be on the tour after what he did), that would be perfect!

Doubt he's going to get any further, though:

L32:  (7) Novak Djokovic (SRB) WR 7 (CH = 1 more times than I care to remember) vs Cameron Norrie WR 35

Stu Fraser on Cam's prospects against Djoko.  It seems that there may be hope...

Jake went down 4,4 and 4 against Zverev. Not sure how he played but hope he gained some confidence from running him close enough in each set to be competitive.

30 double faults in two matches is still too much, but at least he got a win under his belt. Davis Cup next?

Apart from the serve, the rest of the game looked back to his early-year standards. Much better match from Jake. It was a fun watch.

That is good to hear, and if he can sort out those double faults, maybe he can make some progress.

Presuming Jack D has no chance of DC against Poland, seems Cam and Jake must comfortably be the top two singles players. I can't see Dan having a look in this time around, it would feel like Julian and Lloyd must surely have the doubles places sewn up - no point splitting them up and clearly the top pair ahead of Joe/Neal as it stands- and then presumably Billy for the third spot? Jake and Cam have both shown they can do ok in doubles to be a back up should Julian or Lloyd need it, I think.

I guess Joe and Neal might power through and take the US Open (or any other Brit) and change that doubles thinking but, as it stands, I find it hard to see past that squad of 5?

Now Jonathan Jurejko poses the $64,000 question.

Shelton goes out, seeded 6. Seems doing well in the masters lead ups doesnt translate into success here.

To be fair, it was a retirement as he got injured during the match.

Novak with a dodgy back. Cam takes the second set 7-6(4)

Cam did break Novak to start the 3rd but after a long service game, got broken back immediately

Sadly, Cam went down in 4 sets. Overall, ok year at the slams for him though. Perhaps he can have a decent autumn and continue to rebuild.
