I'm sure you already gave your reasons elsewhere so apologies for asking, but why is this being held a week early?
No worries - because it cant really be held half way through the US Open next weekend, so we either wait to the end of the USO or do it now; if we left it to the end, it becomes a 6 week month and September would be 3 weeks, whereas this is a 4 week month like this and September will be 5 weeks. So it all fits better.

I went for Arthur - happy to see our favourite little Frenchie back on the winning track
Alicia was very close - but she did beat Hannah
Fran was also close thing but the US Open felt a bit 'next month' and I may well vote for her then
Thanks CD - yes, the US Open, and slam qualies thing sometimes being in separate months (well, for French, Wimbledon, and US) has been mentioned earlier and its a good point. Without re iterating the logic, Ill fix it next season, albeit that will be around 9 months time - as the AO isnt impact with its dates!

I wasn't saying you need to fix it, Jon
There's no 'right' answer - I see the problem
I was just trying to give some feedback as to my thinking when making the choice
But you don't need to change anything based on that !
I'm much more a singles rather than a doubles follower and find Lloyd a rather strange character.
But such has been their achievements this month I have gone for Cash & Glasspool
Thanks Indy - I was actually interested to see where you would go with this, per above comments.
You'll also see 9vicman raised a point you have made before about keeping the slam qualies and main draw together so people can assess the full body of work at a slam for a given player.
Reflecting, I agree - I think you had that view as well. It is too late now for this year, but for next year (FO, W and USO events) I will separate out qualies from the other events taking part in the pre slam week and align it with the main draw events - wrt to the US Open Mixed, I will take a view on that nearer the time!!
Further reflecting on my comments from last night re the slam qualies, it also would align them with all the other qualies across the season which are kept together with their respective main events.
Living and learning as we go!!
Actually I'd be surprised if I had made that point before because I can't recall at any time being unhappy with Grand Slam qualies being separate from MDs to keep the month lengths relatively even, and qualies ( much more of a thing than in other events ) and MD being distinctive enough to possibly deal with.
However, I have no real problems either if you want to change course in future.
