Wasn't able to be back to watch it, but having watched it on catch-up, it was a good test in a lively evening atmosphere with an enthusiastic Spanish crowd.
Hamish actually led 5-2 in final set, so it will have been an agonising sleep loser I'm afraid.
In his service game at 5-3, Hamish Led 15-0, then missed an easy put away at 15 all, and again at 15-40.
Then led 40-15 and had two more Ad game points in his service game at 5-5, but was undermined by a couple of double faults and couldn't quite get over the line.
A certain Rafa Nadal was watching the match and Hamish played well overall but will reflect on one that got away.
