Kai-Luca didn't have a particularly successful junior career but did have a couple of results at the J100 level and did come through Wimbledon Qs in 2024.
Kai-Lucas older sister India also went the college tennis route -
India's path to Coppin State University was marked by prior academic and tennis experiences. Before joining Coppin as a grad student, she attended Samford University in Alabama during her freshman and sophomore years, earning recognition on the SoCon All-Academic Team. She then continued her academic and tennis journey at the University of South Dakota during her junior and senior years, where she was named to the Summit League All-Academic Team.
Her commitment to tennis began well before college, as she participated in junior tennis tournaments and achieved a Top 60 ranking in the UK.

Having updated my records of Div 1 college players, here are some stats. These are not definitive, it's just what I've been able to identify going through rosters.
It confirms what seemed to be apparent in the signing announcements that there is a shift from the men to the women in who is going to college.
64 teams have at least one GB man on their roster 73 teams have at least one GB woman on their roster
The most GB players on any 1 team is 3 5 men's teams have 3 GB players - Bellarmine, Delaware, Denver, Le Moyne, UNC Chapel Hill 3 women's teams have 3 GB players - DePaul, Florida State, Michigan State
In terms of the so-called "Power 4" conferences which have the strongest teams - 50 GB players (22 men, 28 women) Atlantic Coast (Wake Forest, NC State, Virginia, etc) - 15 (6 men, 9 women) Southeastern (Florida, LSU, Vanderbilt, Georgia, etc) - 15 (8 men, 7 women) Big Ten (USC, Ohio State, etc) - 13 (3 men, 10 women) Big 12 (TCU, UCF, etc) - 7 (5 men, 2 women)
12 men on last year's rosters don't seem to have returned and have eligibility remaining and include Jack Pinnington-Jones (as we knew), Oscar Weightman, Zach Stephens (I know he was looking for a transfer) 8 women on last year's roster don't seem to have returned and have eligibility remaining including Millie Skelton (she appears from social media to be on campus but isn't on the roster)
Although Team Computerised rankings won't be published until after Indoor Nationals, the very helpful collegetennisranks.com shows USC are 2nd on live rankings with this win. Note theres a complicated change to how rankings are calculated this year which makes it a lot more difficult to produce live rankings so props to them for incorporating it. --- Isa Lacy continues her excellent start to the spring season as Virginia won a 4-2 upset at Michigan. Isa is now 6-0 (and 1 unfinished while a set up) for January and 16-4 for the season.
Ollie Tarvet returned to college with the objective of helping San Diego reach the final 8 at the NCAAs. While he's doing his bit, the rest of the team have some work to do as USD lose for the 2nd time in a week at home to Arizona State.

--- Other selected men's results 3. #115 Henry Jefferson (UF25-26) def. Erik Schiessl (FSU) 6-3, 6-2 4. #48 Alex Okonkwo (OSU) vs. Abel Forger (UT) 6-7, 4-2, unfinished 5. Luc Koenig (BU) vs. Gus Tettamble (UT) 6-4, 4-1 (UF) 6. Louis Bowden (BU) def. Victor Tosetto (TU) 6-0, 6-0

Talia (Clemson), Flora (Ohio State) and Ferran Redza (Santa Clara) were the bright spots in an otherwise forgetful day for British results. Ferran not originally in the singles lineup was brought into singles after doubles and won his match to clinch a 4-3 win for Santa Clara. Commendable scoreline for Immi Haddad (USC) who was promoted to the No 2 singles spot and narrowly lost to NCAA singles runner-up 4-6 in the 3rd. And also for Hannah Read (San Diego) who was promoted to the No 1 singles spot and narrowly lost to Texas A&M's Mia Kupres also 4-6 in the 3rd. Texas A&M is currently viewed as the No 2 team by the ranking committee.
Ollie Tarvet (San Diego) lost his first non-retirement college match since Nov 24, and his first at home since his 1st year as he lost in straight sets to Arizona's Jay Friend. Luca Pow (Wake Forest) moved above Shah to the No 2 spot had his now customary early February loss as Wake Forest were humbled by Ohio State 0-4. It'll be interesting to see if Wake Forest are still viewed as the No 1 team in the upcoming rankings that are still selected by committee until after the National Indoors. Auburn (Blayde brothers), South Carolina (Swaine) and Georgia's (Jansen, Chen) mens matches were postponed.
1. #34 Mia Kupres (TAMU) def. #51 Hannah Read (USD) 6-2, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4 [Hannah won 2nd set tie-break despite receiving a penalty point for a 2nd overrule] San Diego lost 2-4
6. Ferran Redza (SCUMTEN) def. Cameron Burton (ORE) 7-6 (9-7), 7-6 (7-2) Santa Clara won 4-3 Unfortunate acronym for Santa Clara. I guess it doesn't have the same meaning in the states!
