The Women's Ohio State Regional had the most even round 1 match up on paper in one match and the most uneven in the other.
Arizona lost to Notre Dame 3-4 1. Ciara Moore/Chulak (Arizona) d. #45 Molnar/Pozder (NDU), 6-3
3. Ciara Moore lost to Holod 6-7(5), 7-5, 4-6 The match rested on who would win Ciara's match. Ciara battled hard saving 4 match points over 2 games, but lost the 5th on deciding point.
Ohio State d. Youngstown State 4-0 1. Flora Johnson/Luciana Perry won 6-2 2. Hep Oluwadare/Teah Chavez unfinished 4-4
4. Hep Oluwadare unfinished 6-0 5-1 6. Flora Johnson won 6-1 6-2
This was such a mismatch - 3rd seed against a team outside the top 200 teams - that Ohio State pulled 2 of their 3 top singles players that moved Hep up to 4 and gave Flora a rare singles match. Flora was first to finish. I feel there's a decent player in Flora but she's in a catch 22 situation where she needs regular singles match play for her to iron out some of what is holding her back from getting regular match play. With all 7 of Ohio State's singles players above her returning next year I don't know how she does that.
The remaining women's matches - there's quite a few

So far in getting to the L16, there has only been 1 upset on both the men's and women's draws, but neither involving any of our teams

I know - I thought she had British connections from previous coverage here though so thought id just mention it. I could be wrong as I genuinely have no idea, just seen her name appear in comments on this forum quite often?

sorry if that is completely off beam!
Its possible Im thinking of a player called Garland instead, so probably completely off track and in which case i apologise!

No, Jon, you're right - for both
Kate Mansfield (and brother - Nathan, I think) were based in the UK, and played a lot here
But always played for the US (I remember meeting Dad, I think he's American, from recollection, not sure about Mum)
Now Kate is at college there, which makes sense
So, definitely UK connections, but has to be prefaced with 'she's American'
Joanna Garland is the player with a British dad, who also played a lot in the UK, but has always played for Taiwan (her mum's nationality, I believe)
To be fair, although Kate does play as an American, she does get described as a freshman from England. Her family still lives in London and her dad owns a business here. I think she is a dual-national but not 100% sure on that.
I was surprised you said she played at No 5. Texas must be down to the bare bones. Ill have to check where Texas have submitted her in the line up when theyre available again but I don't think she's in the first 6 singles line-up in a fully fit Texas and she only played doubles for the first time for Texas this weekend.
