Week 39 - ITF M15 - Budapest, Hungary (hard)

Yes Liam had an injury (ankle/leg stress fracture?) at the start of 2024 and then the concussion incident that summer and it does seem to have taken a while to perhaps get his mojo back.
I share the sentiments that it a shame see him playing at the M15 level, but perhaps things are turning around.
His last 4 ITF tournaments over the last 5 weeks have been W, SF, F, W so the at last hes a winner again seems a bit harsh.
He also won a 15 back in April!

Hopefully he is now getting the confidence to move up again to his true level.

Given that a concussion can have lasting effects, it's only been a year/just over since it happened. Genie was never the same after her incident

Thanks folk. I had totally forgotten about his concussion, so yes that could certainly have very unpredictable long term consequences. All the best to him.

I watched Liam lose at the Heraklion challenger qualifying, was clearly the better player and was obviously frustrated by his performance. Had a chat with him afterwards and even though he had just lost, he was nicest bloke, thanked us for coming to watch him and posed for a selfie. Long may these positive results continue!
