At a break near the end Kasatkina looked as if she had just run a marathon, breathing heavily and practically steaming. Sonay looked as if she had just arrived on court, preparing to warm up.

Marvellous for Sonay - looking at the score, it feels like Kasatkina must have had some sort of problem, any ideas?

R2:- Sonay Kartal (GBR) WR81 def Daria Kasatkina (AUS) WR20 [14] 6-3 6-0

Sonay beat Kasatkina in three sets at Queens this year, and that was her best win by ranking as Kasatkina was WR16 at the time.

R3/L32:- Sonay Kartal (GBR) WR81 v Maya Joint (AUS) WR36

Maya has put out Shnaider WR10[17] today

Hope Sonay wasn't too overwhelmed by the great warmth exuded by Kasatkina when they shook hands.....

Don't know. Folk indicating that Sonay played very well and while saying that she looked far fitter, no specific issue mentioned for Kasatkina.

Anyway, 26 points to 6 in that second set ( 20 to 2 if you exclude game 3 ).

Frankly, I thought it was the other way round smile

Sonay gave a cursory nod of the head, leaning backwards, sort of 'job done' shake

I only saw three games but no injury for Kasatkina that I could see

It did rather look as if Kasatkina had already left the court by the time she got to the net. Looking a Sony's expression it seemed to convey 'Job Done', much like her handshake
