Week 39 - ATP 500 - China Open - Beijing, China (hard)

Looks like Harri was pretty excited for that win and felt they played well.

Good stuff, theyd appeared to lose their mojo but maybe a couple of weeks apart has helped them refresh.

Really interesting podcast interview with Harri H here

baslinjen.com/2025/09/23/videopodcast/

Really insightful comments on what Louis Cayer brings to the games of the British players.

He also comments on him and Henry for next year, saying they haven't discussed it so not sure yet whether they will play together, but then makes it clear he would like to. In his blog he implies he regrets how that came across and it sounds like he and Henry have agreed they will continue, although maybe I didn't read that properly.

He also says it is his intent to play through the LA Olympics in 28 and has it in mind he will retire around then, so 3 more seasons effectively - he will be 39 at that point.

Well worth a watch

Henry and Harri take the opener 7-6 (5) in a tight battle, having been a break down.

Khachanov and Rublev win the other semi and await the winners in the final.

Second set not going so well, 1-4 down.

As an aside, anyone seen any comments on why Julian and Lloyd gave a walkover?

According to LTR, it also secured their place in the Tour Finals, 5th team in and joining Julian/Lloyd and Neal/Joe.

And the 5 qualifiers so far are a distance clear of the next ones on the list
