Week 40 - ATP Challenger 100 - Villena, Spain (hard)

But he does get broken in the end - NO first serves, George - you can't miss all your first serves

And we're back to 4-4

So close, so much good play - but George couldn't quite get over the line and lost the third 5-7

I still find George frustrating, so much talent, so inconsistent. This is one result where it should say George lost rather than was defeated.

Pity for Joshua+

Though for now he is showing as live ranked 98 as against his CH 104 and could possibly be into the top 100 in the post Shanghai rankings.

Quite a number of players could overtake him by then though including some in Shanghai. I don't know what his own plans are for next week.
