With plenty of tennis left this month, Id say Mika is an early contender for this months top prize.

1. Rhys Lawlor (2009) - winning the singles title at the J100 in Greece. He's our #2 best player for the age (after Ceban) and this is his first title in 2025, and his best win ever

2 Mark Ceban (2009) - winning the singles AND the doubles title at the J200 in Spain. This equals his best wins ever, and will give him a big booster in ITF points

3 Mika Stojsavljevic - in a Tunisia W35 the 16 yo reached the singles final, beating 3 top 500 ranked seeds and losing to a 4th, plus won the doubles title. Moves her up to CHs of around 570 in singles and 760 in doubles. Went one better nearer home at the W35 in Birmingham, where she came through to take the title, winning the final emphatically and beating players like Marni and Mimi on the way.

4. Gordon Reid - won his biggest singles title in 7 years, at the series 1 tournament in Mallorca at the Rafa Nadal Academy, beating Gustavo Fernandez in the final. His previous title this year was at Series 2 level and his last Series 1 title was the Korean Open in 2018

5. April Sackflame - age 13.5 (born 2012), winning the J60 singles title a Loughborough, in her first ITF event. A graceful player, with a lot of natural skills, and one to watch; followed by being runner up in the TE under 14 Yellow Bowl in Gran Canaria, seeded 7.

6. Brooke Black - winning the W35 doubles title in Week 41 in Darwin (her first professional title) at the age of 17. She also reached the final in Week 40

7. Ryan Peniston - winning the latest challenger in the Greek islands, his first in 2 years, beating the top seed in the final and entering the top 200 again as a result. Welcome back, Ryan

8. Jan Choinski - wins his second 125 title in just a few weeks, second of his career, in Valencia, rising very close to his career high ranking and up to GB number 5 in the process

Ha ha. I am sure it was coming!

Personally, I often wait for the rankings update after a big week, which is what I am doing with Mika's update.

And I think it quite likely Vic will get a nomination too. If not and you want to nominate her after your return, then just do so.

Basically I think just let it run, Jon, especially as we are still far off the end of the month.

Most folk know the process.

So roughly a week and half left in october PoM vote. No complications this month with events crossing over multiple weeks or months, so the period will end next Sunday, November 2nd, with the end of Paris in the mens and Hong Kong and Chennai on the WTA tour. And the poll will be posted Monday morning, 3rd November.

And it isnt just a PoM vote, places up for grabs in the PoS, which is only a couple of months or so away!
