I just looked on tennisforum.com and it looks as if Sonay missed out on the qualifying entry list by a few places. There have been a number of withdrawals though and Sonmez is seeded 16 with a current ranking of 82 - I think Sony was 81 at the cut-off date.

I don't think Sonay can have missed the qualifying cut. She must have not entered or pulled out.

The qualifying cut-off ranking date was 15 September and Sonay was ranked 82. The cut-off was WR79. The printout doesn't show alternates though.

There are players without WCs in the draw ranked in the 90s like Tomljanovic 94 and Bondar 96. Tennis Forum was tracking drop outs and they had Sonay getting in five days ago. Sonay must have pulled out.
