Raducanu gets Lin Zhu (217) before a likely meeting with Mirra Andreeva (1) Couldn't really have been any tougher, though the first round should be ok.
Wonder if this will make her consider giving it a miss now with the health issues she has.

I actually think Mirra is very beatable for Emma, especially given the quality of tennis she showed against Pegula and Krejcikova. If she'd won either of those matches, she was playing more than well enough to go deep.
Since Mirra's big win at Indian Wells in March, she's been a little disappointing tbh. She made quarters at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, but after winning her first 1000, she's struggled to push on, and really hasn't been playing that well since Wimbledon. Lost to Sonay the other week and then early again in Wuhan to Siegmund.
If Emma's fit, I'd back her to win that one in straight sets
Lets hope Emma doesn't have to play until Tuesday. The forecast for Sunday is 33C feels like 35C, Monday 34C feels like 36C. Tuesday is only 26C feels like 27C.

Emma is not shown on Monday schedule so will play sometime on Tuesday,

I would hope that Emma (or any player) wouldn't pull out of an event just based on the draw she gets.
Emma is out in Asia largely to improve her ranking.
Even just winning R1 in a WTA 500 earns 60 points.
Given also I think her issues in the last tournament were heat related, as with so many others, then all in all I can't imagine anything but her carrying on as planned.
Emma is third on Centre court after a 6am start, so somewhere around 9am. TNNS allow 1hour 10 mins per match so suggest an 8.20am start for Emma. Rain is forecast for the morning but should end before play starts. Rain is also forecast for later in the week, so there are likely to be periods of waiting for the rain to stop.

Not sure but Emma lost the second 6-4. Zhu played better tennis but Emma was passive. She doesnt look too well TBH, lacking a bit of oomph. Wonder if she is still feeling the after effects of last week? As for Roig, who knows, best to ask her dad.

Tbf to Emma she has only lost one match to a player outside the top 60 all year - to Cristina Bucsa, then WR 101, early in the year in Singapore. Well, to date anyway ...
Recovers an early break in the third set, 6-3 4-6 *1-2
