Week 42 - WTA250 Osaka, Japan - Hard

Ms Noskova did well to get from 27 to 17 in the three weeks between playing Ms Kartal and then Ms Boulter.

Well, better to play horribly in round 2 than round 1 I suppose. Cirstea really gave her the runaround.

The qualies draw for Tokyo Pan Pacific Open is out, on TNNS app, and Katie has drawn Anna Blinkova in R1 and then possibly Bouzkova in FQR

I see that Katie has got a mandatory Ningbo 500 zero pointer and the 30 points from this Osaka 250 for week 42.

So she drops 60 points to 1018 points at 20/10/25 with her Ningbo 60 points from last year dropping out and the 0 for Ningbo 2025 coming in. The 30 points from here are a non counter

I assume she hasn't played a required amount of WTA 500s. She now has 3 mandatory zero counters for this year - Doha 1000, Dubai 1000 and Ningbo 500.

And looks like next Monday, she will drop below Sonay and Fran to British 4th. and presumably end the year there?

ETA - she appears to still have Hong Kong and then Austin (125?) in her schedule so maybe she will fulfil those and try and regain ground? Fran appears to have Chennai next week, Sonay looks like shes nothing planned?

Yes, I did a further uodate on Katie's ranking in the week 43 Tokyo 500 thread.

She will indeed fall to GB #4 on 27/10, behind Sonay and Fran.

She then has a further 163 points ( net 133 points ) due to drop on 03/11, leaving her projected to be well behind the other two.

Those zero pointers are killing her
