Week 43 - ATP Challenger 100 - Open Groupe Vert - Brest, France (indoor hard)

Wow!

L16:  (Q) Arthur Féry WR 214 defeated Hugo Grenier (FRA) WR 176 by 4-6 6-4 7-5  biggrin

The French Attic/Granary served for it at 5-3 in the third set!

*****

An  even tougher test awaits in the next round:

QF:  (Q) Arthur Féry WR 214 vs (WC/3) Hugo Gaston (FRA) WR 113 (CH = 58 in July 2022)

That is tough - a threesome with two French guys will be rough going!

I think he should try and get himself up against Grenier and keep the ball away from Gaston if possible.

Great result! .. I hoped but I knew it would be tough .. and he toughed it out biggrin

Gaston is whole different prospect .. I think this next match is about experience .. and anything else is a bonus

So Gaston didn't have it all his own way.  Good experience for young Arthur.

And I think that he was actually a break up briefly in the first, too, hence my comment.

Aside from actually winning, it was as good as I'd hoped. biggrin

Great performance, great experience for Arthur.

Further proof he's ready to get to mid-100's
