Week 43 - ITF W75 Saguenay, Canada - Hard (Indoor)

Vic took the win 4 & 2. Only saw the 2nd set but decent level, Vic playing the more rounded and aggressive game and onwards into R2

Victoria broke to serve for the first set at *5-4 but was broken back and subsequently decisively lost a TB.

6-7(1)

The match has gone to a decider

A break down in the decider. But it is a match that hasn't been short of breaks.

Hopefully Victoria can still pull it off. Apparently it would be a CH win if she did.

6-7(1) 6-4 2-3*

6-5*

Saved a couple of BPs in that game. Great scrambling before pass in the penultimate point.

It would help if the camera could show the players at both ends of the court. At the start of the points sometimes all you can see os a pair of legs at the far end !

And yes, it would have been a CH win if she'd been able to convert one of her match points in the final tie-break.

(Best remains as Savinykh WR272 at Shrewsbury W60 in 2019)

Victoria saved 2 match points and had at least 5 of her own before losing the tie break.

Ah poor Vic. Mind you she had a fairly lengthy MTO before the final set, after which she played a truly awful game, so she did amazingly well to take it so far. Serve and backhand are both decent weapons.

Arghhh !

Loses the TB 10-12. Had 4 MPs in all in the TB. Long, wide and a bit limply into the net in the first 3. Though Rogers got rather lucky on the 4th with a net cord that had a think on the way over, drew Vic forward to pick it up and on to the back foot in that rally.
