L32:  (1) Carlos Alcaraz (ESP) WR1 vs Cameron Norrie WR 31

Preview of the match on the ATP site.  Includes comments on the speed of the court this year compared with last.

Interesting - I had commented above about Paris low bounce favouring Cam, maybe. It seems the new venue has a new surface and it is a higher, grippier bouncing one and slightly slower. Cam still fancies it though

After dismantling Norrie at SW19, Alcaraz currently leads their Lexus ATP Head2Head series 5-2, but the Briton has reason to believe this time around. Players have noted a noticeable change in court speed a factor Norrie believes could bring his heavy topspin forehand into play.

For sure I like it. I remember last year it was so quick I couldnt make too many balls, Norrie said of the conditions. It suits my game well and the ball's bouncing up a little bit more than I remember. It was always pretty low here before, so thats really good for my forehand and I can get some good revs on it.

"still" fancies it though ?!  Sounds like you fancied the previous one rather more than Cam did

Yes, I think you're right! Main thing is where you land, not where you take off!

Sometimes not - as Ford Prefect said to Arthur Dent (roughly), learning to fly is about throwing yourself at the ground and missing.

None British but in doubles, Krawietz and Putz have qualified for Turin and have the Italian pair of Bolelli and Vavassori. 7 of the 8 doubles places are locked now.

The 8th place is between Harrison and King, Nys and Roger-Vasellin, and Doumbia and Reboul.

The French pairs both play today and, conceivably, it could all be decided if both of those pairs lost, handing it to Harrison and King.
