Great turnaround from Oli. At a set and a break down he just started playing more offensively, hitting the forehand bigger, coming to net. He was brave, and Montes was forced into errors.

Yes - the commentator was SO on Oli's side biggrin

He liked the brave player, kept saying how Oli deserved it smile

Ha. Maybe I should commentate! Who was it - I think the guy that does a lot of the Challenger stuff is called Mike Caton? Or something similar.

L16:  (8) Johannus Monday WR 212 vs (Q) Cannon Kingsley (USA) WR 569 (CH = 404 in April last year)

JoMo at one set all, 6-4 6-7(1)

He didn't have a BP in the second set and was rudely seen off in the TB.

Another win for JoMo and he will get back to parity for the week.

And he will have covered all his points off nicely - with a couple of US challengers left for him, could well break into the top 200.

Blimey!  Rosenkranz has just beaten Hijikata (1) in straight sets (3 & 4), ergo

QF:  Mats Rosenkranz (GER) WR 285 (= CH) vs Oliver Tarvet (CO) WR 369

LB, you are close!  It is Mike Cation, who has been commentating on challenger events for a decade or more. I have to say that I like him, he is probably my favourite commentator. I first noticed him when Dan Evans and Marcus Willis were going deep into challenger events in the US, must be at least a decade ago. He has great insight into the game at challenger level, speaks to the players etc.

Tarvet is not having a good time. Only won 5 points in the 1st set. 6-1 1-0 down.

Rosenkranz certainly had Ollie's measure:

QF:  Mats Rosenkranz (GER) WR 285 defeated Oliver Tarvet (CO) WR 369 by 1 & 0  cry

Here's hoping he learned a lesson or two from that.
