Fair dos to Nilsson if she is keeping going and not chucking the doubles because of the schedule ( and she's won her second singles match of the day so is into the singles SF ).

Ah, Nilsson+ have given a walkover. Holly & Eden into the SF.
My understanding is that if they lose, having received two walkovers, they will get points from the previous round, i.e. QF or 11 points, not SF points. Doesn't seem right though.

WTA rulebook Section VIII-3-C-ii
Its better than the no points the ITF rulebook says they would get.
1. General b) A match won by retirement, default or walkover will count as a match won for ranking points and prize money. Except in the following cases where no ranking points shall be awarded: i) walkovers in the first round. ii) where a player or team has not won any matches in the previous round(s).
4. Walkovers a) If a player or team receives a walkover in the 1st round, or if a player or team receives a walkover in a subsequent round(s) without having yet played a match, the player or team will not receive ranking points, but will receive prize money for the round reached.

I support the ITFs approach more than the WTA to be honest. The money should be paid, youve spent time there and should be compensated accordingly. But youve not won a match and whilst unfortunate, you shouldnt get points at the expense of other players in the rankings. The money doesnt hinder anyone else and therefore is fair and reasonable .
obviously, if they win the final ( even by retirement!) they then should get all the winners points.
