Wow - what fantastic results to check in and find. Wonderful to see Savannah backing up her recent success. It looks like Gabia lost in straights and Eva lost the first set. Come on, Eva!

Thanks. Better presentation, but still lacking in match stats.

Well done, Henry. Not sure he can match Luis performance in this from last year in doubles, but at least he is still in it!

Quarter-finals
[4] Savannah Dada-Mascoll (Senior, Appalachian State) (#106) v Emily Welker (Graduate Student, Ole Miss) (#67)

Savannah went into the last 16 as the only one of the 16 women not at a school in the top 4 conferences (the "power" conferences). Her opponent in the quarter-final is a 25 year old graduate student in her 2nd semester of college tennis and has a career high WTA ranking of 593. She has received a walkover today, so will have the advantage of having had a day's rest compared with Savannah's 2hr 14 mins of effort. Her college record in the spring was not particularly good, but she is 12-1 this semester with her only loss to Kristina Paskauskas in the regional semi-final. Whoever wins this has a great chance of making the final as the other qf in this half is quite weak but the favourite for the title is whoever emerges from the bottom quarter (Brantmeier or Herea). Savannah and Herea are the only top 8 seeds left in the draw.

Luca Pow (Junior, Wake Forest) (#92) v [9-16] Paul Inchauspe (Junior, Princeton) (#18)

Great turnaround for Luca today. Its unfortunate Will wasn't able to make it an all British quarter-final losing to his fellow former Reeds school classmate. Luca is next to try against Inchauspe where Will did not succeed. The winner will face either Ozan Baris, the only top 8 seed left in the draw, or ATP top 200 player Michael Zheng - the favourite for the title.
