Week 48 - ATP Challenger 50 - Challenger Cup - Islamabad, Pakistan (hard)

Jay at 191 live rankings now and British number 7. Noting Arthur is still pushing him at 195 and will jump ahead if he wins today.

Nonetheless, if Jay wins the final he will jump over Evo

Jay has made an early break, 3-2 opening set.

Jay won a challenger back in May, in North Macedonia. Hes certainly travelled this year and put the miles in. This is his 93rd match of the season!

Win here and hes back to almost 170 in the rankings, not far off a CH.

Opening set 6/3. Looking comfortable.

And Jay wins it, and with comfort, 6-3 6-1

Great end to the season for him! Well done!

Jay goes above Evo to British number 6 but maybe only for a couple of hours?!

 Indeed, come on Arthur!

Re Evo - anyone see any news about his recovery and return from what I assume actually was a broken wrist? I have been absolutely zero info on him!

Super to see from Jay, who I subbed into my Top 10 predictions squad at GB #6, and he was still just GB #12 two weeks ago.

Maybe I could be rising in that table to at least 2nd bottom

He has been signed to a premier league tennis team. Which appears to be an Indian based team tennis tournament. So sounds like its on during the off season. So assume he is fit, be good to get some tennis in before next season starts.

Excellent end of the season for Jay. Not far off his career high ranking now. Hopefully can push on next season.

Dan did advise that he broke a bone in his wrist. Good to see that although he said then that his season was over, he is getting some late in the year matches under his belt.

As per Lambda in Dan's individual thread in October:

"He confirms he broke a bone in his wrist and on doctors orders his season is over. He says by the time he would be able to come back the tour is over.

https://shows.acast.com/craigtennispod/episodes/evans

"Broke your wrist did that really happen?"

"Yeah, exactly as you said. Took a funny fall, broke part of my left wrist one of the bones in there. It's a funny injury... It sort of ended my year" "
